Nice to see you all!

Cape May 8.22.10 about 7:00AM

I think I've found the Secret. No, not that Secret. I think the key to a truly meaningful life is to take the way you feel on day 3 of vacation, hold it close and don't forget the feeling. Incorporate it into your every day life.
.
Stuff will happen that you didn't plan and you will work many 14 hour days. But you will be doing work you love and you will have balance. You steer your own destiny, and that is a privilege.
.
We are sitting on the porch of our beach cottage on some white wicker furniture with black and while toille print cushions. It was as idyllic as you might surmise. It was the end of day 3. My husband leaned in for a kiss or some sweet words , I thought. Instead he said " You know those lines on your brow are gone, hon." I just simply burst out laughing, but he was right.
.
I wasn't watching, but I hope you kissed the ones you love,
xoSherry

Wonderful post Sherry! Yes, day 3 is the day when the old stuff is forgotten and you haven't started thinking about the new stuff yet- you just ARE! How do we keep that going?? So glad you had a nice vacation and welcome back!

Thanks for sharing your feelings during your trip. Cape May, NJ? If so, I used to stay for 3 days at "The Abbey" every spring with my Mother & my girlfriend. We did this 8 yrs in row. It was enchanting.

Glad you had a restful vacation. Yes, hold that feeling close and don't ever let it go! Hope you are back home...since it looks like the east coast is in for some nasty weather!

Such a good post, and so, so true. I haven't had a bonafide vacation in much too long, but I love that feeling when you feel like you've already been relaxing for days and you still have days ahead. The sense of open-ended freedom is so tranquilizing. Love Cape May, too. I referenced it in my blog last week (though I spelled it Cape Mey, which I think is a correct alternative). And your bicycle, Sherry, had a cameo in today's post!
