For 3 years in a long and interesting swimming career , my son has tried to break 30 seconds in the 50 Meter Butterfly. Two weeks ago he did just that. But, this past Saturday, in the last regular meet of the summer season he swam a spectacular 28.89 And if you can't fathom how fast that is, just ask Michael Phelp's mom.
PS There are 4 other swimmers in the water with him, just about to make their turns.

Congrats. Fly is fast but a tough stroke. My son never mastered it but I can only imagine how you felt watching.
How exciting Sherry! My daughter use to swim and it was always fun to watch the fly. I never could understand how to get all the parts working together like that!
Congrats!!
That's awesome! Congrats Sherry, you must be so proud!
Bob and I were really thrilled as much at his perseverance as the time itself. But, it was exciting.
And, Connie and Kathy, it's a stroke I never mastered either. So, tough.
Wow that is pretty amazing!! Congrats!
Wow, that's fantastic!!!
:)
HOLY COW! That's stupendous!
I hope I can get Zack to go back to swim team. He decided not to do the summer team and is doing advance lessons instead, but at age six, I don't know how much I should push/expect. Wondering if I should have even let him start at age 5, but he wanted to. Oh well, we'll see.
(In complete awe of your son).
Congratulations to your son!
hi Sherry!
WOWOW! That is incredible.
How did he do that? Its a stroke that you try once, and then drown after one stroke whilst both laughing and clutching your your shoulders in agony.
He must be so flipping strong.
You must be so proud. I think Danny must actually be a superhero by night.
