I had a date last night

with my husband. And, because it's not something we do as often as we should getting caught up with daily life, it's that much more special. We went to see MILK, with Sean Penn, who I have been in love with since the Falcon and the Snowman so many years ago.

It's a powerful and beautiful film, told as if I remembered the events unfolding yesterday. Yet, I am reminded that in 31 years that we have not come too far in respect to tolerence.

Please see it if you can. We were lucky to see it in the art screen of a very nice theatre. That means you get to listen to Miles Davis before the show instead of a slide show of advertisements.

Now, I'm going to make some pancakes for my lovely husband and sleepyhead son . Hope your weekend was a keeper too.

This film has gotten some rave reviews from everyone whose seen it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sean Penn has become quite the character actor; I'm impressed considering my first intro was his role as Spicolli in Fast Times! Here's to a grand week.

I hope to go see it after the wedding. Just no time for much of anything else right now. Dates are so nice!

Oh, I know what you mean about dates with your husband or the lack thereof! I'll have to check out that movie and perhaps suggest one. Have a great rest of the weekend.

I absolutely loved this movie. Very powerful and inspiring stuff! And Sean Penn... brilliant! Too bad he's not more like Harvey Milk in real life.. sigh

I haven't seen this movie, but I have also been a BIG fan of Sean Penn since I first saw him. He won the Oscar for it, didn't he?
