My brother got one of a skunk on his arm when he went into the Navy...it said "Never Again"...meaning he would never re-enlist. He ended up putting in his 20 years.
I'm getting used to it. He really did do his research to find a good place. And we knew knew he wanted one, we just didn't think it would come so soon.
Danny even found out he couldn't swim for 2 weeks after he got one, and since he was the captain of his swim team, he waited until the season was over.
It was a rite of passage, and I am reminded of that saying, you give them roots so they will have wings.
My mom flipped her lid when i got tattooed at 18 - granted, I went out and got a gigantic one on my back, but still! Your son's is not bad at all. Being a tattoo artist now i fully expect my kids to have tattoos, and I really won't be able say anything about it! But I think it's great that your son told you immediately and was willing to share that with you so readily!
