To Honor My Mom

My mom, second from the right, was a model for a short time in the 1950's. When she became a wife and a mother, she gave up her career to stay at home. This is one of my favorite photos of her.

I lost my mom a year ago this week after a short and valiant struggle. As always, I've been thinking a lot about her, but especially today.

Sherry, I'm so very sorry. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I lost my father many years ago, and I still think of him almost every day. I hope your memories of the time you had with your mom will live on for you.

Your mother was beautiful!

What a wonderful photo to have of her time modeling.

Memories keep us going through our times of grief, don't they?

I'm not going to visit blogs today, but all of your words touched me, and I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time. It is a comfort to read the comments.

My Mom was a model also and she passed in July over 15 years ago. I miss her terribly. I certainly understand your thoughts. Hugs!

I lost my Mom 25 years ago, and still, she is on my mind all the time.
And then my Dad 6 years ago.
It's very odd, and I don't know that I'll ever quite adjust, to not having any parents.
I console myself, knowing that they are a part of me, and I carry them in my heart, with me, every day.
warmest wishes to you.

I lost my Mom on July 3rd, (the day you wrote this post) but 19 years ago. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have to admit the empty feeling never really goes away; it becomes necessary to fill it with all the wonderful memories of the conversations and moments you had of her.
